Handmade Journal Give-Away!
For Christmas I made my Dad one of these little A5 journals so that he could write any notes, ideas and lists down whilst on his allotment. Of course I just had to make myself one and so far it has proved very useful indeed, it has my seed list in, my plan, my to-do lists and I’m sure by the end of the year it will be jam packed!
Spring is just around the corner and I am giving you the chance to win your very own allotment notebook so you can get planning for the year ahead. It’s made from real leather with ‘Allotment Notes’ stamped on the front and there is a grey cord to keep the book shut. There is a pen holder inside as well as some handy little pockets.The best thing about this journal is that the notebook is removable so it can be used every year, just simple replace the A5 notebook once it is full to the brim with all those important notes!
All you have to do is simply comment below with your full name and one reason why you are excited for Springtime to arrive.

I’m excited about spring because i love it! As a biologist and gardener is the best season! I just planted lots of plants and i can wait to se them full of flowers and fruits!!

I can’t wait for the snow to melt and the weather to warm up enough so that I can start some seeds in the potting shed I built last fall. Like Sue, I am excited to try munchkin pumpkins and have found seeds for myself after a little bit of research (sadly, no Sarah Raven in the US). Good luck everyone!

My windowsills are filled with seed trays, and I’m looking forward to Swiss chard, pole beans, kohlrabi and munchkin pumpkins!

There is something of planting a simple seed with so much love and care and to see it flourish little by little and harvest it and the end. Spring brings hope and new beginnings.

I have just found out we can put a little shed on our plots. Inspired very much by your own shed! We are completely covered in snow and ice. It starts in October and doesn’t leave until end of March. I’m going to try to plant the cool crops early this year in April, if the weather permits. I usually don’t plant anything until the end of May. Wish me luck! Btw I so adore your videos and photos. So charming.

Did you know how easy it is to make your own and you can use card board from cereal pkts for the cover look at inspired by Pinterest on you tube. I’m suffering with withdrawal symptoms as it feels like forever since the last video! I’ve had flooding problems on my new allotment and my onions garlic and dwarf peas have drowned!!! Ah well digging a sump and hopefully will cure the problem. However earth is like iron here in Binny Scotland!!!!

I’m usually not a big fan of spring but since following your allotment adventures on YouTube, I’ve become inspired to create a small vegetable garden in the back yard. I’ve got the bamboo poles for the runner beans and soil all ready to go. Just waiting for that last frost here on the west coast of Canada.

January 21, 2015 at 11:36 pm (1 month ago)I’m really excited about spring arriving because it means I’ll be able to get the kids out of the house and planting stuff (which they love doing). We’ve got a little girl and twin boy’s and I got the allotment as a cheap way of getting them out doors and doing something interesting (I was unemployed at the time). It’s become a really important place for our family. The boys have made friends with other children and learned loads as have I) about gardening from our neighbour who has had her for 30 years (They especially like learning about pests).
The last few weeks of winter have been a pain because the weather has been quite bad in Newcastle (where we live) and we haven’t been able to get to the allotment much. That’s the main reason why I’m looking forward to.spring so much. Getting the kids out, planting, digging, planning and playing. Warmer weather, longer days, new shoots, promise, growth. Everyone should have an allotment. Standard.

I’m looking forward to spring so my husband and I can have our first garden plot at my work (an animal sanctuary). We’ve always moved at really inopportune times so we haven’t had the chance to garden together. I’m hoping to instill the farmer itch in him because I would love to have our own farm someday. I would do animals, he would need to do the veggies I don’t know if this giveaway is open internationally or not, but that is a lovely notebook, I may have to figure out how to make one myself!

I’ve got some seeds sown at home; though I suspect my windowsills are a bit too cool! But, I’m planning to try aubergine this year! I want to get my photography going again - the plot is ideal, even for just grabbing snaps of the changes, over the season! The notebook makes me drool! I have a notebook fetish! I buy really nice ones, but, can’t bear to spoil them! I then buy cheap, rubbishy ones, that don’t matter, if my handwriting is scruffy! I probably should get help!

I am really looking forward to Springtime as this will be my first full year on my new allotment and therefore I will be able to plan fully everything I want to grow and where to grow it! We got our plot last Summer so we didn’t have much time to plant a lot but still managed to grow some lovely fruit and veg. I am also finally getting a shed so I can hide from the Spring showers and spend more time at the lottie! I will be painting it purple!

So I am looking forward to spring because being down my allotment for me is one of my favorite places to be, a time when there’s lots of seeds to sow and fingers crossed maybe even a shed to erect somewhere to sit and make a cuppa lol and then looking forward to the summer when hopefully my plot will be bursting with food

I could never pull off a dress and muck boots. I’m pumped for spring because I started a Back to Eden method garden in the fall. I just hope that it’ll be ready for me to plant in April. Keep the posts coming please! They are a relief from the winter.

I’ve only just ‘found you’ and you have given me the nudge that I need to start planting and creating rather than just standing looking through the window and dreaming. I’m going to start small with some Sarah Raven sweet peas and am planning to do one thing each week towards making our garden lovely.
