Plot 15C
I acquired plot 15C back in July 2013 and here it is in all its messy, untouched glory:
It is 13 metres by 6.5 metres big and is lucky enough to have the sun shining on it alday along with a large bramley apple tree hanging over it, which means lots of applie pies, crumbles and sauces! It also came complete with weeds, rhubarb, 2 black currant bushes, oh and more weeds. Although I did manage to make 4 jars of black currant jam which was a success
I am one of those over organised people that like making plans and sketchbooks of projects as they go along, you can’t be too prepared though right? However I knew exactly how I wanted my allotment to look like, right down to a lavender pathway, shabby chic shed and raised strawberry beds. I also knew that I wanted to grow flowers, theres not enough flowers in North Baddesley allotments and I am a little in love with wild flower gardens. The timing of getting my own allotment was, however, not very well planned. It was July and nearly everything was being harvested by the time I had rotavated my plot with the exception of a few vegetables that to be honest, I only planted because I had land and I wanted to use it! In went turnips, beetroot, french beans, carrots and swiss chard, along with half of my lavender pathway and everything grew amazingly well (although I suspect the lavender is slowly dying off!)
With all the vegetables in and growing I could focus on my potting shed, and with help from my Dad who is just simply amazing we managed to cut an 8×6 shed down, make a stable door and insert 2 vintage reclaimed windows into it. And ta-Dah! My dream shed was born! The finishing touch was a vintage 1950′s kitchen cabinet (which was a bargain might I add), this stands perfectly in the back of the shed filled with old terracotta pots and all the nessecities.
And this is where my blog begins. My allotment still needs lots of work done to it, buts thats half the fun isn’t it?!

Thank you, we both really love gardening so its a joy to just get busy on the allotments, weather permitting of course
It is a shame that some of the allotments here are dormant and covered in weeds, especially when they could either go to someone who wants to use them or to other plot holders who want to grow more. The plots are far too small to live on and I for one would love to expand. If only our allotments were big enough to have a committee
