RHS Malvern Spring Show 2018

We arrived back from the RHS Malvern Spring Show late Sunday night completely exhausted, the past 5 days have been very hectic but we couldn’t be happier. The weather was glorious, the show was amazing and all our customers were absolutely amazing! We can’t thank you all enough and loved talking to each and every one of you that popped by to say hello.

We didn’t get much time to look around during the day, which might have been a good thing as I probably would have come home with more plants that I don’t have room for! However, sometimes we would arrive at the stall early so before the show opened to the public we would have a little browse at the other beautiful stands and the amazing show gardens. I loved the more rustic and natural looking gardens with wild flowers, vintage props and brick pathways. For some reason I’ve always wanted a garden with a pathway made from old bricks! I also loved the use of vertical growing which was a big trend at the show and of course who doesn’t love a garden with goats in it?!

I was also doing a bit of window shopping so to speak… Hopefully in the near future I’ll be moving away to Wales which obviously means I’d be leaving my Dad’s greenhouse and would need to look into getting my own (which really excites me!) Every gardener needs a greenhouse and there were some beautiful ones on display in Malvern. I came across a company called Cultivar (www.cultivar.com) and the greenhouses instantly caught my eye, they looked so modern and sleek and I could just imagine myself pottering around inside. Plus they can be made with a partition inside so you can have a separate seating area/summer house… sounds perfect to me!

I did actually come home with a new gift for my allotment but it wasn’t as grand as a new greenhouse, it was in fact some bunting. I’ve been meaning to put bunting up on the plot for a couple of years now and was going to make my own but I couldn’t resist these bargains. It’ll be hung around my flower border and I can’t wait to sit there in the Summer surrounded by bunting and flowers with a cup of tea in my hand. Of course that won’t be happening for a while.. Malvern was the first of 5 shows in a row and we’re heading to Hylands House in Chelmsford this weekend for the National Flower Show.

Hopefully see some of you there? Don’t forget to check out our events page http://www.lavenderandleeks.co.uk/events-2/
