This is my second little harvest of sweet peas from the allotment and hopefully not the last. They smell absolutely divine and I couldn’t resist cutting a few ox-eye daisies and popping them all in a jam jar to take home. Last year my sweet pea harvest was was pretty poor, I planted them out rather late so they didn’t have a chance to grow underneath the monster leaves of the munchkin pumpkins. This year however, they had a head start and I’m hoping they will cover the archway and give me lots of beautiful flowers to pick throughout the Summer.
I’ve also started a new collection of vintage toy tractors which will sit nicely on a shelf in my cabinet inside the shed. Don’t ask me why, I just love them! Even when the paint is peeling off the metal and they look a bit tatty I just fall completely in love. To start my collection off is this lovely little red tractor which I found at a car boot sale and just couldn’t resist. Now whenever I go to a market or car boot I’m always on the look out for old, little metal tractors to sit on my shelf!

Your little posey of flowers is so lovely!! I’m so excited for my sweet peas to start blooming. This is the first year I’ve planted them. They got started a little late, but I’m hoping they’ll start blooming like mad. I love vintage metal toys. The more chipped, the better! -Katie
Sweet peas are the best. I’m growing some Prince of Orange and Boujalais. I have still not got round to planting mine out, but the are quite big already. Hope I’ve not left it too late.
Happy gardening!
