It’s officially 2017 and what better way to start the year then getting the garden ready for the growing season ahead!
This just so happens to be one of my favourite times of the year, the time when you can sit in front of the fire and plan out your garden or allotment surrounded by seed catalogues, cups of tea and lots of biscuits. All your dreams and ideas can be drawn out on a page ready for the year ahead and you find yourself eager to get outside and get your hands dirty. Of course you have to remember that it’s only January and no matter how badly you are itching to get out in the garden the weather can stop you in your tracks. Many a gardener has woken from Winter hibernation and sown seeds too early in excitement.
There is, however, one way to get ahead and that is by using our ever so handy cloche hoops. They can help to warm the soil ready for early Spring sowings. They can provide the perfect cover for seedlings, giving them that extra bit of warmth and shelter. And after you have finished using them they can be used to create a beautiful border edging in the garden (until they need to be used in Autumn of course!)
Handmade in Hampshire by my clever Dad using a solid steel bar with a natural rust finish. These simple hoops can be used to transform a 66cm wide piece of PVC roofing sheet (not included but available at most DIY stores) into a handy cloche, simply slide the hoops onto the sheeting and you have instant protection for young vegetables.
Last but not least, our hoops are design registered with the Patents, Designs and Trade Marks Intellectual Property Office. Registration number 5002480. So you won’t find them anywhere else!
