So I’m back in Wales for a couple of weeks and I couldn’t be happier! It does mean however, that I’ll be missing the big tulip display at the allotment this year…
A few of them have started to bloom and the trough is looking beautiful yet again. Apricot Beauty were the first to burst open, shortly followed by the Ronaldo and Cairo tulips from the Brandy Snap mix and then the Spring Green variety. The newly added variety for this year called ‘Black Hero’ is growing nice and tall and I’m very excited to see how these turn out. They are a double flowering variety like my all time favourite tulip ‘Belle Epoque’.
I managed to cut a handful of them to take back home so they could be admired there instead and I’m hoping that my Dad will keep me updated with photos if any more bloom. I’ll have to plant up another tulip trough here in Wales so I don’t miss them again!
