This just so happens to be one of my all time favourite recipes and it’s particularly delicious to eat after spending a morning working up the allotment in the cold. It’s easy and simple to make but is very yummy, serve with chunky bread and mash for the perfect dinner time meal!

Hi Katie! Just popping in again to tell you I made your recipe today for our lunch and it was delicious. I had andouille sausage on hand, so that’s what I used. It’s snowing here today and this hardy dish was perfect. Thanks so much for sharing. Oh, and I loved the video. Well done. One thing I wanted to mention is that in your written instructions above it says in the second step to cook 110 minutes. I assume that is a typo and should read “10” minutes. Anyway, I love this recipe. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and thanks for sharing your lovely life with us. xo ~ Nancy
Dear Katie. I have enjoyed reading your blog regularly throughout the year. Thank you for sharing it with us. Happy Christmas. Best wishes. Jean
What’s “mash” asks the Yankee?
It’s just mashed up potatoes, with butter and milk mixed in and some salt and pepper too.
