Back from a busy weekend at the Newbury Flower Show where we witnessed all types of weather, rain, hailstorms and wind. However, the sun blessed us with it's presence on Sunday and we had a great time meeting new customers and followers from Youtube and Instag...

A Very Spring Morning

1 month ago by Katie
I managed to pop down the allotment early this morning to film the intro for the 'What to do in April' video (I know, 7 days late but it's being edited as we speak!) and I was greeted by sunshine and some little surprises. My first tulip has bloomed in the gal...

Somerley House Craft and Garden Fair

1 month ago by Katie
Our first show of the year was on the 26th to the 28th of March at Somerley House and boy did we pick the worst weekend weather wise! Saturday and Sunday consisted of rain showers and wind, then Storm Katie showed up late Sunday night and brought with her 70mp...

Down on the Farm

1 month ago by Katie
It looks like this year is sure going to be busy! What with all the garden shows and the shop to keep running as well keeping the allotment up to check, videos to film and the blog to write... and then there's not forgetting Wales! I do apologise for my lack o...

Pottering about in the Greenhouse

2 months ago by Katie
The growing year is in full swing now and the seed sowing list is getting larger now that we are halfway through March. The sun was shining so I headed out into the back garden to potter about in the greenhouse with my seeds in one hand and a cup of tea in the...

Plot 15C Plan 2016

2 months ago by Katie
We're already halfway through March and I've realised I haven't shared my 2016 plans with you all yet and I am ever so sorry! I guess you could say it's been a very hectic but amazing start to the year what with spending most of my time in Wales, in fact I've ...

Spring on the Farm

2 months ago by Katie
Well I'm back in Wales! Charles was very poorly so I came back to help with lambing and to give him a rest. So I've been on early morning feeds and sheep checking duties since Tuesday and I'm loving every second and so happy to be back. I'm pretty sure ...

What to do in March

2 months ago by Katie
It's March... the daffodils are out, lambs are bouncing around the fields and Spring is within reach! Congratulations to those of you that haven't given in to the temptation of sowing seeds too early, it's warmed up a little bit but it's still cold and windy o...

Spring is Coming…

2 months ago by Katie
I'm back from Wales due to work commitments after spending the best 2 weeks helping out with the lambs. I am loving life on the farm and learnt so much about lambing, it was perfect seeing the little lambs being born and then later bouncing around the fields i...

The Farmers Apprentice

3 months ago by Katie
A year ago I would never have guessed that I would be here, in Wales, helping to look after a small flock of sheep, running around after lambs and helping to raise one too! I wouldn't have it any other way though, I am having the best time and learning so much...

Inside the Potting Shed

3 months ago by Katie
I don't think I could be without my little purple potting shed on the allotment, even though it can be quite a distraction from important jobs like weeding. You'll often find me sitting inside with the kettle on pouring over my notes and tidying the cabinet. I...

Lambing Live!

3 months ago by Katie
I'm back in Wales to help out with lambing this year and I couldn't be more excited! I've never done anything like this before as you all well know and I can't wait to see little lambs bouncing around the fields. I have a lot to learn about farming, sheep and ...

Help

Back from a busy weekend at the Newbury Flower Show where we witnessed all types of weather, rain, hailstorms and wind. However, the sun blessed us with it's presence on Sunday and we had a great time meeting new customers and followers from Youtube and Instagram. The Flower Show was a very tiny part of a Dog show which seemed to dominate the garden stalls and we were over run by dogs in all shapes and sizes. Even though it was interesting to see so many different breeds it seems that there is no strong link between gardening and owning/showing dogs. While we had a good couple of days we have come to the conclusion not to do this show again, to stick to only garden shows where you get gardeners visiting and not great danes wearing baseball caps! Our next show is at Firle Place on the 22nd to the 24th of April and we cannot wait. The show is part of a company called 'The Garden Show' and since doing Stansted Park and Loosely last year we thought we would give the third show at Firle Place a go too. We hope to see you there!
