I’m back in Wales to help out with lambing this year and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve never done anything like this before as you all well know and I can’t wait to see little lambs bouncing around the fields. I have a lot to learn about farming, sheep and lambing but what better way to learn then hands on! I arrived here on Friday and there was one beautiful lamb already born, since then there’s been a set of triplets and a set of twins arrive during the weekend which brings the lambing count to 6 so far.
Charles is working away from the farm for a few days which leaves me in charge of feeding and checking on the sheep. My morning starts by waking early to see Charles off, heading back to bed with a cup of tea to do some work on the laptop before going out to feed the sheep at 9am. Then it’s back out every 2 hours to walk round them to check everything’s ok and to see if any lambs have been born. It just so happens that my first morning alone consisted of an abandoned triplet lamb and a newborn all before lunchtime! Not that I’m complaining, I am loving every second!
