What a glorious week we’ve been having weather wise, the sun has been shining which means more time in the garden and up the allotment! All this great weather has also been doing the seedlings in the greenhouse some good and they have been growing like crazy.
I spent a good few hours in the afternoon making some paper pots out of old newspaper so I could get on with some much needed potting on! There’s lot’s of flowers and vegetable seedlings desperate for their own little pots so I decided to dig out the old paper pot maker I brought last year at the Edible Garden Show. It’s a great little tool, easy to use and very eco-friendly, you can even plant the entire pot out into the allotment because it’s bio-degradable!
The Green house is starting to fill up rather quickly and we are running out of room, which reminds me that I need to order some more staging! Everything is growing so well though and I managed to pot on some dill, red cabbage, cosmos, bunny’s tail grass and some malope seedlings. I had some cheesy music playing on my ipod and I really couldn’t have been any happier.
Hands in the dirt, head in the sun and bopping along to cheesy music, what more could you want?

Lovely article again Katie. You are so right, the nice weather does make the world of difference. I am definitely going to get one of those paper pot makers.
Looking forward to the next blog update.
Happy gardening!

Nice post. It’s great seeing updates from someone outdoors in the weather on the other side of the planet. We’re through the equinox and your days are getting longer while Autumn finally starts here, a month late! Plus we’re 27 South while you’re 50 something north. I wonder how many days of the year you have the higher average temperatures? Maybe less that 100 or 120 I imagine. The grass is still growing strongly down here :-). There is something splendid about an English summer day though. The light is nicer for one.
