I’m back on the farm in Wales after what seems like ages and I’m so happy to be back with my two favourites. I’m making the most of my week here as I won’t be back again for another 2 months due to selling at 5 shows in a row soon!
Whilst Charles was busy working on the fertiliser spreader I decided to leave him to it and head on down into the woods on the farm. The wild garlic has been out for some time now on what we call the little island down by the river and the smell is simply amazing. I carried my little wicker basket with me and cut a few leaves, I had two recipes in mind to make and I didn’t need to be greedy with the harvest.
I walked back to the house with my little foraged harvest and popped the leaves in a jar of water, it was getting late so I decided to bake the next day instead and wanted to keep the leaves fresh. I’ll be making some of those delicious wild garlic and cheese scones that I made last year (The video can be found over on the Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV8F5W2DwYE) and I’ll be having a go at making some wild garlic butter so I can make my very own garlic bread too (recipe to follow shortly)
But for now here is my Wild Garlic and Cheese Scone recipe for you all to enjoy, simply click on the image below to be re-directed to the recipe page. Go out and forage some of these delicious leaves now, you’ll find them in woodland around the country and the smell will overwhelm you! You can use the leaves in so many recipes and the flowers can be used as a salad garnish too. Have fun foraging!
