It’s the start of a brand new year and like usual it’s time to start thinking of the year ahead and all those resolutions. One of my resolutions is to spend more time on my hobbies and even though gardening is my main hobby I also have a few more that I often forget about.
After gardening the thing I love to do is sew, making my own clothes that fit me is my idea of fun and in 2015 I almost lost the sewing bug. So I’ve made it my mission this year to spend more time on my sewing machine and I’ll even go as far as saying I don’t want to buy clothes this year, but make them instead. You see as I’m rather tall it’s often hard to find clothes to fit my long arms and legs, and when you can make your own clothes you can make them fit like a glove which is just perfect.
Not that I’m going to stop gardening that is! I have so many plans and ideas for my allotment as well as new video series that I want to film in 2016. But I’ll save all those ideas for another blog post!
So to start the year off with a sewing bang I wanted to show you all my latest make, a dungaree dress! It was really easy to make, I used the bottom skirt part of my favourite dress pattern and simply added a bib and braces. I want to add some large deep pockets on the skirt so I can use the dress up the allotment but I am really happy with it.
Here’s to a Happy Hobby New Year!
