When I was younger I used to hate Sunday’s, I called them lazy days, when there wasn’t anything to do but sit around the house. Boy oh boy how much has changed! Now I’m older and there doesn’t seem to be enough days in the week to get everything done. Today however, happened to be the best Sunday I’ve had in a while. I spent most of the day pottering around in the back garden in the new greenhouse, which is rather quickly filling up with little seedlings, I have to admit I had the most perfect day.
It was rather miserable outside which made it even more ideal to escape into the greenhouse to sow some seeds. I managed to sow some Globe Artichokes, Red Cabbage, Sunflowers, Wild Carrot, Dianthus, Scabious, Dill, Ox-Eye Daisies, Poppies, Eryngium Alpinum and some Linaria Maroccana. I also helped to pot on my Dad’s Tomato seedlings before it got dark, I made a note to buy a light to put in the greenhouse so I can stay up there in the evenings!
This was my first time sowing lots of seeds in the greenhouse and it’s got me so excited for the year ahead. I’m putting so much hope into these tiny seeds and I’m dreaming of Summer time when the allotment will look green and lush again.
Today also happened to be Mother’s Day so I didn’t spend all day sowing seeds in the greenhouse. I treated the Mother to breakfast in bed and afternoon tea out at a local garden centre. I do love my Mum and although she doesn’t share my obsession with gardening, she sure puts up with it!

When I was young I, too, hated Sundays. I brought this up to some friends a few years ago and they felt the same way when they were young. Now, Sundays are fine with us. I think it had something to do with school on Mondays. No problem when school was out.
The shed is getting very homey. I think it needs a few chickens, tho.
Last Sunday was the perfect day to get some jobs done in the green house it seems we all had the same idea. I’ve got quite a lot of seeds sown in the house and I’ve ran out of space so the larger seedlings have been moved to the allotment greenhouse (fingers crossed they don’t suff to much)
Is it just me being super eager for the frosts to finish and the temperature to heat up so I can get a move on or is everyone else in the same boat?!
