I did it, I finally gave into temptation and decided to cut a few of the tulips to bring home! The weather forecast looks a tad rainy and windy for the next couple of days so I thought I would bring the beautiful blooms inside where they can sit on the table and make me happy instead.
Luckily I did pop up the allotment to rescue them from the elements because 5 of them had already snapped in the wind! I felt a little sad cutting them to bring home, they looked so lovely sitting tall and pretty in the trough and I’m going to miss them terribly. It was nice walking up the allotment path and seeing the brightly coloured petals waiting for me with the bees buzzing happily. I think next year I’ll have to plant even more tulips!
I know I’ve probably left it a bit late and the petals will soon be dropping off, but I love them none the less and I’m sure they will make the house look pretty for a day or possibly even two. It’s my birthday on Tuesday so I treated it like an early present to myself!
My first cut flower harvest from the allotment of the year, and I couldn’t be happier.
