Around a month ago now the lovely Tamara contacted me about her amazing product, the Roo Apron. She kindly offered to send me one to try out and I was so excited, having seen the aprons before on Instagram I just knew that it would come in handy during these Summer months of harvests and allotment jobs.
Have you ever been in that situation when you are busy picking harvests, your hands get too full and you have to keep finding a basket or trug to empty them into. Of course you have! Every gardener has the same trouble which is why this apron appealed to me so much. The main feature is the huge pocket on the front which can fit all your harvests inside and is always right there in front of you, hands free! The pocket has the option to open up at the bottom so that your harvest can be emptied into a basket etc when needed. There’s also two smaller pockets higher up to house tools or other valuables as well as a phone pocket inside of that. The straps on the back are extremely comfortable and are designed to lighten the load and spread the weight, they are adjustable and fastened by one buckle on the side.
I set mine to work straight away when I needed to dead head my rose bush. It’s been flowering beautifully this year and I’ve been trying to keep on top of it as best as I can. So I put on my Roo Apron, grabbed my secateurs and started snipping away at all those dead rose flowers so that the new ones could carry on blooming. It didn’t take long to fill up my Roo!
I can see this apron being used endlessly this Summer and I’m looking forward to using it on my foraging adventures too, it’s going to be handy picking all those cherry plums in the village!
So I’m very pleased to be able to offer a giveaway right here on my blog for you to be in with the chance of winning your own apron. Tamara very kindly not only sent me my very own Roo Apron but included a Joey Apron inside the package too. This is a waist style apron which works in the same way as the Roo but simply ties around your waist instead. It has the same main pocket on the front with the same features and can be used to harvest fruit and vegetables aswell as being used for endless garden jobs including dead heading and even weeding!
Simply enter by commenting here on this blog post with what you are most looking forward to harvesting this year plus don’t forget to leave your full name too!
