It’s been a while since I last wrote a blog and it feels like a lifetime since I checked in with you all here. In that time Summer seems to have passed us by in a blink of an eye and Autumn is right on the horizon. We’ve been busy with work and even managed to set up the Lavender and Leeks stall at 3 garden shows. I’m so pleased to say that each one was a huge success and it was just so nice to get out and have a good chat with people face to face. I’ve also been on holiday for a week in August, a camping trip with the entire family where we made new memories to cherish and survived 60mph winds sleeping in a tent!
During the last moments of Summer I also welcomed a new member to the gang, a beautiful little Jack Russell Terrier puppy called Teddy! He’s currently 12 weeks old and has been with us for nearly 4 weeks now, he’s settled in nicely and has even managed 3 trips to the allotment. It’s safe to save I’m absolutely smitten with him and he’s totally transformed my life already, I can’t quite imagine it without him now.
Of course he’s not quite trained yet and he can be a proper mischievous puppy, but he’s booked in to start puppy classes soon so I’m hoping to train him into a good allotment dog. So far he seems to really enjoy it up there and he’s got plenty of space to zoom around and dig holes! We made a note to fix up the boundary fence and put in proper gates so that he can’t escape, we have all the fencing poles so this shouldn’t take too long.
I have so much planned for the future with him and can’t wait to start going on camping trips, hikes and paddleboarding together. Yesterday we headed to Bournemouth beach and whilst my family were inside the aquarium me and Ted walked along the promenade to the dog friendly beach where he met so many people and dogs. It was the best day!
Today we’ll be heading back up the allotment to continue the big Autumn tidy up, hopefully Teddy will lend a helping paw…

Teddy is absolutely adorable. Best of luck with his training, looking forward to seeing more pictures of Teddy at the allotment!
Hi Cathy, thank you so much! I can’t wait to start the puppy course and get him nice and trained. We’re still in those puppy weeks so it’s hard going but so worth it
Teddy is an absolute angel! And your face shows how much you love him! I am really happy for you. I look forward to hearing about his adventures on your allotment. š
Oh he can be trouble at times! But I really do love him so much, he’s transformed my life already
awww….. Teddy definitely will have his own fan club. He likes the camera.
Teddy looks full of mischief, as so many JRT’s are..they are usually a one person adoration package too. He’s a darling. Love his wee designer neck ties!
Awww what a sweetheart! He’s making me even more broody for a pup of my own. I’ve, sadly, been dogless since 2008 due to long working hours but am now in a much better job with flexible hours so have told hubby that next year we WILL be getting (or adopting) a dog or two…..and I simply cannot wait! Funnily enough, JRT’s were one of the breeds I was considering too….I had a couple of littermates back in the 90’s and they’re great little dogs – happy to hike all day or, if the weather is grim, snuggle up beside you on the sofa. You’ll NEVER ever regret getting Teddy – terriers are fantastic fun!
