It’s been a rather exciting past few weeks here at the Lavender and Leeks head quarters and I’m pleased to finally reveal a recent collaboration with the one and only eBay. They contacted me in regards with the campaign #FillYourCartWithColour to help brighten my allotment and get it looking it’s best this Spring.
I couldn’t contain my excitement as my chosen products arrived one by one in the post. The colour themed continued with the packaging when a bright green box appeared on my door step filled with colourful little parcels tied up with string, I almost didn’t want to ruin the paper! Every single item had been carefully chosen for mine and my allotments needs, from being practical to just plain pretty and I’m so excited to finally be able to share it all with you…
First off are the most practical products, ones which my allotment needed to help get it ready for Spring. However, just because they are practical doesn’t mean they can’t be nice and colourful! There’s a post rammer to help me put new fencing and gate posts up the allotment, some Spear and Jackson lawn edging shears to keep my pathways as neat as my Dads and a little Burgon and Ball perennial spade to help me cut the cost of buying new plants when I already have lot’s of perennial flowers to divide right here. I also chose some Burgon and Ball Verti-Planters to house my strawberry plants in the fruit cage, a pair of Felco secateurs because they are the king of all secateurs, a box of beautiful coloured Nutscene twine which every gardener needs and last but not least my dream polka dot kettle.
As most of you know my poor old hazel archyway rotted away two years ago and I never got round to replacing it. I’ve really missed having one, it was a real statement and provided the best structure for growing vertically so that I could fit more into my plot. However, I’m pleased to reveal that I have 3 magnificent archways creating the perfect entrance into my allotment and I couldn’t be happier. I’m so excited to see them covered with sweet peas, munchkin pumpkins and climbing french beans this coming Summer!
And last but not least is probably the prettiest addition to plot 15C, it’s something I’ve been wanting for a while now and my dream has finally come true… it’s a storage bin disguised as a bee hive! I’ve always adored the look of these traditional bee hives and would love to keep bees but it’s just plain impossible to do right now. So I did the next best thing and combined my love of bee hives with a handy storage bin to place all those odd pots and bags of compost inside. This way the allotment stays neat and tidy whilst looking pretty at the same time, I just can’t wait to see that little hive surrounded by flowers this Summer!

I’m so excited beyond words to get my allotment up and ready for the season ahead and I’m determined to get it looking it’s very best. With eBay’s help I’m halfway there, now I just need to get sowing and planting!
