I started the long drive home from Wales yesterday, I was nearly home and just so happened to be driving past the allotment site so it seemed rude not to stop and have a quick look. I was dreading what I might find there amongst the jungle of weeds but I thought it would cheer me up a little and take my mind off missing a certain someone.
To my complete amazement the plot wasn’t completely covered in weeds and everything had grown since I had last seen the allotment 3 weeks ago. The broad beans have shot up and they have lots of flowers on them, the onions have grown and look nice and strong and the potatoes have started to pop out of the soil. The radish tank shows the most growth and I desperately need to thin them out. There’s also some tulips still blooming beautifully in the trough, the strawberries have flowers on them and the apple tree has pretty white blossoms on it. There’s a few flowers blooming including the water forget me not, the euphorbia and a geum which I thought I had killed! Spring certainly has arrived at Plot 15C and I can’t wait to get up there and get my hands dirty.
