I turned 26 years old yesterday and I was lucky enough to be spoilt with lots of presents and handmade cake! Amongst some of the lovely birthday gifts I recieved was a handmade flower press and some handmade cloche hoops made by my amazingly talented Dad. I also got the Nigel Slater Volume II cookbook (I already had Volume I!) the RHS Botany for gardeners book and the RHS Latin for gardeners book. I couldn’t recommend these books enough and I can’t wait to have a proper sit down to read them cover to cover. They make me want to study horticulture even more and I find it all so fascinating, I’ll soon be naming everything in proper Latin! I’ve also been given tickets to the Gardeners World Live show in Birmingham for Saturday the 13th of June and I can’t wait. We went a couple of years ago and it was amazing, I brought a few plants, we watched Monty talk about herbs and watched Joe Swift talk about shade loving plants too. It would be great to see if anyone else is going on that day, would be amazing to meet fellow gardeners 🙂
Amongst all the presents and cake I was also lucky enough to have the day off so I decided to pop up the allotment to plant out the swiss chard, and have a cheeky cup of tea and some yummy waffles that I was given for my birthday! It was absolutely bliss, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes and messages on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and through emails too. I am completely overwhelmed by all the love and I am ever so grateful. So thank you so much x
